Capcom has officially announced that Street Fighter V: Champion Edition will be getting a fifth and final season of DLC.

Season V will add five new characters to the game’s roster, which will bring the total roster count up to 45, and three new stages.

“Due to the positive reception to Season 4 and Champion Edition, we are planning to do a final season,” said the SFV Dev Team.

Even though Season V will be SFV:CE’s final DLC expansion, fans can still expect the game to run a few years longer before they see a brand-new Street Fighter VI.

Street Fighter V was released back in February 2016, which makes the game just four years old. In comparison, Street Fighter IV was released back in July 2008, and was Capcom’s primary fighting game for eight years.

Along with Season V’s arrival is the Street Fighter V costume contest, which will allow artists to create their own costume designs for any of the 40 characters in Champion Edition.

The contest begins on May 27, 2020, and continues until July 21, 2020. Interested participants can go to Capcom’s official site for more information.

Various costume designs will be selected by the Capcom staff and through community voting. And the final two costume designs will be chosen through another community vote on Twitter. Voting begins on August 17, 2020, and ends on August 31, 2020.

Capcom has always made its major DLC and new character announcements at the end of CPT tournaments. But with Capcom Pro Tour 2020 and Evo 2020 opting for online formats, we could expect to see some big announcements during these events.
