Gerald “Dlar” Trinchera‘s unexpected departure from EVOS Legends this season came as a shock to many.

The EXP laner’s playing time was limited since he joined the squad in Season 10. However, he has played a big part in attracting new fans because of his entertaining YouTube content and streams under the EVOS banner.

Initially, the circumstances surrounding his departure were vague, with the organization not confirming whether he was released or had chosen to depart.

However, Mohammad Refie Fakhreno, the Head of Esports at EVOS, later issued a statement clearing up the situation.

Fakhernom revealed that Dlar’s decision to part ways with the team was rooted in a misalignment of his personal objectives with EVOS’ plans for him.

“Ultimately, Dlar decided to return to the Philippines, challenging [himself] to try hard and focus on the competitive scene there,” he wrote.

The statement further clarified the reason why the 20-year-old never saw playing time this season.

According to Fakhernom, his counterpart in the EXP lane, Regi “Fluffy” Marviola, had a better performance in their training sessions and evaluations held every week.

“This serves as the basis for us to achieve our goal of winning each match, where the best players will be part of the roster lineup,” he added.

Given the finalization of the MPL PH roster for the current season and the rule that only players from the MDL teams can transition to the MPL team, Dlar’s potential inclusion in an MPL team might experience delays.
