Riot Games has ended its partnership with Garena and taken back League of Legends (LoL) and Teamfight Tactics (TFT). These games are now accessible on Riot Games’ official multi-game client, along with Valorant and Legends of Runeterra on PC.

Garena to Riot account migration requirements

You need the following to start the migration:

  • A Garena League account with data progression – Your account must show some signs of progression (champion mastery, ranked games in your match history, honor or challenge progress, etc.) or include unlocked/purchased content (RP, skins, etc.) to be eligible for a transfer.
  • A Riot League account with the same server as your Garena League/TFT account – If you already have a Riot Account with League/TFT progress or content, your two accounts must have the same server for linking to work. For example, if you played on a Vietnam Garena League Account, you will need to transfer your Riot Account to Vietnam to successfully link both accounts.

  1. Visit the Garena-Riot Games migration page. 
  1. Select “Link Your Account Now.” 
  1. You will be redirected to a LeagueLink page. Click “Star Linking.” 
  1. Log in to your Garena account. 
  1. Select your desired Garena League/TFT Account. 
  1. Log in to your Riot Account, or create a new one. 
  1. Follow the prompts to prepare your account for linking. 
  1. Continue until you reach the “Ready to Link?” page, where you can see all the changes that will be made to your account. 
  1. Click “Link Accounts,” and you’re done. 

Garena to Riot account migration deadline 

Migration will end for good on August 31, 2023. Players should take this time to cross the line if they have not already.
