When Martin “Rekkles” Larsson left G2 Esports, it seemed like the only way was down since he seemingly couldn’t find another LEC team. But joining Karmine Corp in the Ligue Française League Of Legends (LFL) is certainly no step down from the LEC, given how large the fanbase is and how dominant the French organization was in 2021.
Though Karmine Corp took a few weeks to get off the ground in LFL Spring 2022, having gone 0-2 in the previous week, their game against GameWard was the dominant display that everyone had been waiting for.
The victory was capped off with an explosive pentakill by KC Rekkles, proving why he is still one of the best bot laners in Europe.
KC Rekkles gets a pentakill on Jinx against GameWard in LFL Spring 2022 Week 4
Karmine Corp took a commanding lead over GameWard in the early game through successful ganks by Doğukan “113” Balci on Lee Sin. The game was as good as over by mid game, with an 8-1 score and three drakes in favor of Karmine Corp.
But in front of a full live audience, the spectacle deserved an explosive climax—one that KC were only too happy to oblige.
In the 20th minute, a desperate gank attempt by GameWard on Lucas “Cabochard” Simon-Meslet, playing Irelia, was thwarted by the arrival of the French top laner’s teammates in the top lane.
Cabochard distanced himself from the GameWard gank squad, choosing to move towards their base and corner Paweł “Czekolad” Szczepanik on Viktor with Vanguard’s Edge (R). This bought enough time for the rest of Karmine Corp to converge and clean up, even though Cabochard died in the process.
And who better to clean up a fight than Jinx, piloted by KC Rekkles? Beginning the fight with a giant Super Mega Death Rocket, Rekkles Got Excited and expertly tore through the rest of GameWard with Pow-Pow, flashing right after an auto to secure his quadra kill and then pentakill. The crowd, of course, went wild.
KC wrapped up the game just three minutes later, completely breaching GameWard’s defenses.
The King has truly arrived in the LFL. Watch the full clip of KC Rekkles’ pentakill below.
