While Among Us rose to popularity with its simple, yet dastardly social deduction scenarios, many longtime players may want a change of gameplay between the impostor and the crew.

The game’s current state doesn’t really offer too much in terms of customization, but many players have aimed the spotlight to an unofficial ‘hide and seek’ game mode.

In Hide and Seek, Among Us turns into a rat-race between the impostor and the clueless crewmates. Here are the usual settings for Hide and Seek (adjust to your liking):

  • Crewmate Vision: 5.0x
  • Impostor Vision: 0.5x
  • Kill Cooldown: 10.0s
  • Kill Distance: Short
  • Common Tasks: 2
  • Long Tasks: 2
  • Short Tasks: 1

The game simply starts off with the impostor outing himself, which is obviously far from the game’s original gameplay. From there, the impostor will sabotage comms permanently and will chase around the map for kills. With a decreased kill cooldown paired with some impaired vision, you’ll be looking for some crazy kill-streaks.

As for the crewmates, you’ll get 10 seconds to remember your tasks and then dodge the impostor while completing your tasks (if you remember them). In order to win as a crewmate, all crewmates must finish their tasks before the impostor can massacre the whole crew.

Even though it might be different from the game’s slower and methodical gameplay, it provides fans with a more intense, fast-paced way to play the social deduction game. Let’s hope that developer Innersloth might be able to actualize it into a real mode.
