When building your team in AFK Journey, it’s essential to have a balanced composition. Aim to include at least one tank, one warrior, one support, and one marksman.
Additionally, having three or five heroes from the same faction in your team is crucial for team buffs, which can significantly aid you in overcoming tougher battles later in the game.

In this list, we class all characters from S-tier to C-tier.
| TIER | EXPLANATION |
| S-tier | These characters usually go well with any team composition and their skills help in clearing levels much faster. You only usually need one copy of this hero to succeed, even in the latter stages of the game. |
| A-tier | These characters are strong, but they are better off in a faction-specific team. These characters are also good if you have multiple copies of them, or if you have built them to Supreme+ rank. |
| B-tier | Characters in B-tier are only used for specific instances and should not be your main priority when building a team. With the right composition and level, these characters can hold off on their own. |
| C-tier | These characters are better off not used unless you have them in higher ranks (Legendary+ or above) |
