Esports Insider, a media company, has unveiled the inaugural ESI Film Festival, a groundbreaking event that will showcase esports and gaming on the big screen.

With a generous prize pool of approximately US$13,000, the festival aims to highlight the positive impact that video games and esports can have on people’s lives.

The pinnacle of the event will take place on October 20 at the esteemed British Academy of Film and Television Arts (BAFTA) headquarters located at BAFTA 195 Piccadilly in London, United Kingdom.



How to join ESI Film Festival, the first gaming and esports film festival

The competition is open to individuals aged 18 and above, groups, and companies. Participation is completely free. Submitted films should have a maximum duration of 20 minutes.

To qualify, short films must address at least one of the following themes: digital inequality, diversity, and mental health.

Entries will be evaluated based on various criteria including originality, creativity, plot, pacing, structure, characters, cinematography, and entertainment value. Additionally, the effectiveness of the message and the filmmaker’s ability to engage the audience will also be considered.

The winners will be announced on October 20, during the event, and the top prize of US$6,300 will be awarded to the champion.

To enter the competition, submissions must be made through the ESI Film Festival submission form by the deadline on September 1.
