Ubisoft has adopted the Call of Duty perk system for attachments in Rainbow Six Siege. This means that using an attachment in the game grants players various advantages like increased reload speed, faster Aim-Down-Sight (ADS), etc.

For primary weapons, the following attachments can be tweaked: Barrels, Sights, Under Barrel and Grips.

Below you can find out what perks each attachment slot has in Rainbow Six Siege:

Grips

  • Horizontal Grip: Increases Operator movement speed.
  • Vertical Grip: Reduces the rate at which the muzzle moves up while shooting.
  • Angled Grip: Reduces the reload time of a weapon.

Sights

  • Iron Sight: Fastest ADS (Aim Down Sight) speed.
  • 1x Scopes: Fast ADS speed, but slightly slower than iron sight.
  • 2.5x Scopes: Slow ADS speed but high magnification, making it easier to spot opponents.
  • 3x Scopes: Slowest ADS speed with the highest magnification, best for holding long-range angles.

Note: 1.5x Scopes have been removed in Deadly Omen, and might return in the foreseeable future.

Under Barrel

  • None: No laser dot, but doesn’t reduce ADS speed.
  • Laser: Further reduces ADS Speed alongside scope, but adds a laser which gives away position.

Barrels

  • Flash Hider: Reduces the speed at which the muzzle moves up while shooting over time.
  • Compensator: Reduces the horizontal kick of a weapon over time.
  • Muzzle Brake: Reduces the overall weapon kick during single-shot firing.
    Extended Barrel: Increase overall damage of a weapon, while keeping the recoil of the weapon the same.
    Supressor: Reduces weapon noise, conceals bullet trails, and removes muzzle flash.

All these effects are mentioned as they allow players to tweak certain attachments to their liking while following the guide. For secondary weapons, try to use a muzzle brake if available.
