Absolute JUPITER’s Koji “Laz” Ushida has one of the best nicknames in Valorant.

In Japan, he is known as the “Clutch King” because of his ability to win any round, despite the odds stacked against him.

1v4 clutch against Crazy Raccoon at VCT Japan Stage 2 Challengers Final

During the VCT Japan Stage 2 Challengers Finals, Absolute JUPITER faced Crazy Raccoon in the winners final of the tournament.

In the eighth round on Icebox, Laz was the last man standing for Absolute JUPITER after his teammates fell trying to take the A site.

In a 1v4 situation, Laz masterfully isolated the first two Crazy Raccoon enemy agents and eliminated them from the round.

With his Lockdown ultimate on hand, he used it to bait the two remaining enemy agents and push into the site. Laz then got the quick kill on the enemy Killjoy, and the final kill on Raze to win the round.

Laz is truly Absolute JUPITER’s anchor Sentinel who plays angles masterfully. He has consistently found ways to make his opponents take fights on his terms, and fights them 1 on 1 despite being outnumbered.

He had a similar highlight on Cypher when Japan’s Valorant scene was still in its early inception.

Seven months later, Laz is still making Japanese Valorant casters yell out ‘Clutch King’ in Riot’s biggest tournaments.
