It appears a Valorant skin set that gives players an unfair advantage has fallen through the cracks.
The Mystbloom skin set, part of the exclusive edition bundle released on May 1, 2024, in Valorant Episode 8 Act 3, has come under scrutiny.
Players have pointed out that Mystbloom skins can gain a slight advantage by seeing their opponents through walls, a game-changing glitch in the competitive first-person shooter.
Do the Mystbloom skins give players wallhacks?
Popular streamer and Sova lineup expert Jonas “AverageJonas” Navarsete brought the issue to light on X (formerly Twitter), reporting that inspecting a Mystbloom weapon during a round can reveal enemy silhouettes or character outlines through walls if an opponent is nearby.
This effectively grants the Mystbloom user a significant advantage.
Reports suggest this advantage isn’t limited to specific situations. Inspecting the weapon allows attackers to pinpoint defenders hiding on the map, regardless of whether the Mystbloom skin is equipped on a Phantom, Sheriff, Judge, or Operator.
Valorant’s Lead Producer for Cosmetic Content, Preeti Khanolkhar, acknowledged the issue in response to AverageJonas’ post.
“You know we want to make cool skins, but pay-to-win isn’t acceptable or intentional,” Khanolkhar said. We didn’t catch this, but we appreciate the community’s help finding it.”
According to Khanolkhar, the Riot Games’ development team is working on a fix and will push it out soon.
The Mystbloom bundle is available in Valorant’s in-game shop for 8,700 VP.
