The League of Legends Pro League (LPL) has announced the postponement of week 2 of the 2020 LPL Spring Split.

The decision was made in light of the alarming spread of the new coronavirus. The virus, which originated in Wuhan, China, now has a reported death toll of 80 people in the country alone as of writing. To protect the health of its players and fans from possible transmission, the LPL has been suspended.

The LPL kicked off last January 13, and later on took a break to give way for Chinese New Year festivities. It was supposed to resume operations on February 5.

While it is still unclear when the LPL would resume, the committee has promised to share information regarding any developments as soon as possible.
