The highly anticipated rogue-like title recently completed its technical test with immensely positive fan feedback, which suggested the game’s development was proceeding smoothly.
Not long after, Supergiant Games decided to release Hades 2 early access version on PC.
However, if you’re a console player, in particular, a PlayStation player, you may be wondering if Hades 2 will be released on PS5. The short answer to that question is yes, Hades 2 will likely be released on PS5, especially given how Hades 1 was eventually released on that platform.
The more important question, however, is when a Hades 2 PS5 version could be released, and in this guide, we explain just that.
Hades 2 PS5 release date
A Hades 2 PS5 release date should be sometime in 2025, after or alongside the game’s version 1.0 release on PC. Supergiant Games has confirmed it expects Hades 2 to be in early access until the end of 2024, which means version 1.0 could be released at the beginning of 2025.
However, if Hades 1 release pattern is anything to go by, Hades 2 PS5 release (alongside other platforms) could be months after its PC release.
To put things into perspective, Hades 1 version 1.0 was released for PC and Switch on 17 September 2020, whereas the game’s PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S versions were released a year after on 13 August 2021.
If Supergiant Games were to follow that pattern, Hades 2 for PS5 probably wouldn’t see the day of light until late 2025 or early 2026.
However, it’s also important to note that Supergiant Games has grown slightly since the critical and commercial success of Hades 1. While it’s still a small studio, it has become more proficient in making these rogue-like titles, and Hades 2’s initial reception is a great reminder of that.
More importantly, Hades 2 is now more popular than ever, with over 100,000 players playing the game’s early access version on the first day of release, and Supergiant Games wouldn’t want to dish out a massive chunk of the game’s fanbase by not having a simultaneous multiplatform release for Hades 2 version 1.0.
As such, we think Hades 2 PS5 release date could be alongside or just a few months after the game’s 1.0 launch on PC in 2025.
