While other companies and esports tournaments are still holding out hope for the end of the COVID-19 coronavirus pandemic, Arc System Works, the developers of BlazBlue: Cross Tag Battle and Granblue Fantasy: Versus, have decided to completely cancel the entire Arc World Tour 2020.

“The health of our competitors, staff members, and community members is our top priority,” Arc System Works stated. “This decision also comes at the face of increased difficulty in facilitating a fair competition throughout the tour.”

The company also stated that ARCREVO Japan 2020 and Arc World Tour 2020 Finals are under discussions to be held as independent events.

Meanwhile, ARCREVO Korea 2020 and Daredevil events have been canceled, but players will still be able to compete in independent online tournaments.

Arc System Works is the first company to cancel its entire competitive fighting game circuit due to the ongoing COVID-19 health crisis.

Capcom and Bandai Namco are both still hoping to continue their respective leagues later in the year.
