Michael “Shroud” Grzesiek is the latest world-renowned streamer to switch from Twitch’s streaming platform to Microsoft’s Mixer, where he will be broadcasting exclusively.

Making the announcement on Twitter, Shroud simply said he’s “making moves.” On his Mixer stream yesterday, he added that it was “a deal that was best for him.”

Shroud’s last Twitch stream was three days ago. According to the statistics on his channel, he amassed over seven million followers and over 27,000 subscribers.

There were no details disclosed about Shroud’s new deal. Viewers can enjoy a free month-long subscription to Shroud’s channel as long as they have a Mixer account.

It is clear that Mixer’s initial signing of Twitch’s top streamer Tyler “Ninja” Blevins has caused a ripple effect in the streaming landscape. More and more video game streamers are now being offered exclusivity deals by competing platforms.

While Mixer is still far from going neck and neck with Twitch when it comes to viewership and popularity, their strategy of locking up popular personalities to stream exclusively on their platform is gaining steam.
