Omeda Studios’ multiplayer online battle arena (MOBA) game, Predecessor, is the ultimate co-op experience to enjoy with friends.
As you go into epic battles across different devices, the question arises: is there Predecessor crossplay functionality?
In Predecessor, five players team up for glory on the battlefield, featuring a three-lane map, an interactive jungle, and formidable monsters.
Predecessor gameplay
Each match brings together 10 players divided into two teams, each one playing their chosen Predecessor hero. With each hero boasting unique abilities and characteristics, the game caters to a diverse range of playstyles.
Throughout the match, heroes quest for gold by various means — slaying minions, toppling towers, or vanquishing opposing heroes.
The accumulation of gold allows heroes to purchase items from the in-game shop, which augment their capabilities in different ways.
These items grant abilities such as teleportation, invisibility, temporal manipulation, and more.
These items also bolster a hero’s strength, attack speed, health, and various other attributes, empowering them for battle.
Predecessor crossplay: Can you play together on different platforms?
In gaming, crossplay allows players from different gaming platforms to play multiplayer games together.
In the MOBA genre, crossplay isn’t always a given feature. Riot Games’ League of Legends caters solely to PC players. Others like Titan Forge Games’ Smite offer crossplay across PC, Xbox, PlayStation, and Nintendo Switch.
Omeda Studios confirmed that Predecessor crossplay functionality exists. It was developed with both console and PC gamers in mind.
Whether you’re on PC, PlayStation, or Xbox, you can play Predecessor with your friends, regardless of which platform they’re on.
In competitive play, matchmaking prioritizes skill level over the player’s chosen platform or input method.
“We are monitoring the performance of keyboard and mouse players against those of gamepad players during the first few months of Early Access and re-evaluate if needed,” Omeda Studios said in an official statement on the topic of Predecessor crossplay.
Predecessor open beta is available on PC via Steam, Epic Games Store, Xbox Series X|S, and PlayStation 4.
