Week 3 of the ONE Esports Dota 2 SEA League Group Stage opened with Reality Rift and T1 pulling off unexpected upsets against two of the strongest teams in the League.

Reality Rift 2 – 0 NEW Esports

Andrew “Drew” Halim on Luna and Vincent “AlaCrity” Hiew Teck Yoong on Queen of Pain shone as Reality Rift outlasted NEW Esports in a 47-minute, back-and-forth affair to open the series.

AlaCrity controlled the early game for his team, which gave Drew the space he needed to farm up and take over come lategame. Reality Rift’s carry duo combined for 25 kills against six deaths in the opener.

Reality Rift dominated in game two to close out the series with a resounding sweep, with AlaCrity on Ember Spirit and Drew on Faceless Void leading the way once again. Ravdan “Hustla” Narmandakh also had an excellent showing on his support Snapfire, as he helped his carry duo shut down NEW Esports in the crucial teamfights.

AlaCrity notched a series-high 15 kills against four deaths in game two. Drew pitched in with 10 kills of his own against just one death, while Hustla made the game-sealing play by stunning three NEW Esports heroes with a well-placed Firesnap Cookie.

T1 2 – 0 BOOM Esports

T1 overran a slow lineup by BOOM Esports with a highly mobile and hard-hitting squad, with Galvin “Meracle” Kang Jian Wen on a carry Nature’s Prophet, Muhammad “inYourdreaM” Rizky on Leshrac, and Tri “Jhocam” Kuncoro on a support Windranger.

InYourdreaM led the way with 10 kills against three deaths, Jhocam had eight kills against four deaths, while Meracle added six clean kills of his own as T1 kicked the series off with an unexpected upset.

T1 finished off a seemingly discombobulated BOOM Esports in a 25-minute stomp in game two, led by a carry Io for Meracle and a mid Windranger for inYourdreaM.

Jhocam notched a game-high seven kills, while both inYourdreaM and Lee “Forev” Sang-don on Pangolier had six kills as T1 completed the sweep over BOOM with a lopsided kill score of 24-4.

Reality Rift are now tied with TNC Predator for fifth place in the group stage standings, though NEW Esports remain in second place. Meanwhile, T1 are back in position for an Upper Bracket berth in the Playoffs as they take the top three spot from BOOM Esports, who are knocked down to fourth place.
