OG Seed swept Team Liquid, 2-0, in their Lower Bracket elimination match at the Dota Summit 12 playoffs to advance to the Lower Bracket Finals against Evil Geniuses.

Both teams ran four-protect-one strategies to open the series. Liquid picked Medusa for Michael “miCKe” Vu, Ember Spirit for Maximilian “qojqva” Bröcker, Mars for Samuel “Boxi” Svahn, a support Batrider for Tommy “Taiga” Le, and Rubick Aydin “iNSaNiA” Sarkohi.

Meanwhile, OG Seed put Omar “Madara” Dabachach on Spectre, Rasmus “Chessie” Blomdin on Void Spirit, Andreas “Xibbe” Ragnemalm on Abaddon, Zakari “Zfreek” Freedman on a support Pangolier, and Petu “Peksu” Vaatainen on Ancient Apparition.

OG Seed got off to a roaring start, dominating every lane and taking a 13-3 kill advantage coming into the midgame. Despite a huge kill deficit, Liquid was still able to make space for miCKe to farm and keep pace with their opponents in terms of gold and experience.

OG Seed dominated Liquid in the midgame fights to solidify their lead, with both Madara and Chessie notably getting Beyond Godlike streaks. With him and his team having their backs against the wall, miCKe was forced to begin building up a Divine Rapier to close the gap in strength between him and the OG Seed cores.

With the Divine Rapier in hand, miCKe was able to get a huge pick off on Madara while his team was on the other side of the map. Despite the real threat presented by Liquid’s Rapier-wielding Medusa, OG Seed didn’t back down and caught out miCKe in the deciding fight at the Dire bottom jungle that forced Liquid to call GG after 34 minutes.

OG Seed went on to defeat Liquid in game two to secure the series sweep and advance to the Lower Bracket Final. There, they will face Evil Geniuses for the chance to take on Fnatic in the Grand Final.
