Dota 2 patch 7.33 only came out yesterday, and we already have an absolute barn burner on our hands in DreamLeague S19.

The US$1 million tournament has already featured some phenomenal Dota. But from today on, it’s our first taste of what the Berlin Major could look like on a new patch, with a 76-minute epic with more swings than a golf tournament between two of the world’s best squads, Team Liquid and Gaimin Gladiators.

Liquid and Gladiators showcase the best parts of Dota 2 patch 7.33 in all-out brawl

It was an encapsulation of almost everything new in Dota 2 patch 7.33. Gladiators’ perfect early game saw them prioritize the new objectives, including the Wisdom Runes, Twin Gates, and Tormentors, setting up kills with their overleveled supports warping around the map.

It looked like a routine stomp.

It was anything but, however. With their backs against the wall, Team Liquid pulled out some new tech — including a Muerta hard carry, a Void Spirit with Echo Sabre as his first item, and a Boots of Travel two rush on Necrophos. And by golly, did it work.

What ensued could only be described as epic. The two teams traded Roshans and objectives and kills and deaths all game long, playing out an absolute classic infused with manic energy.

Without any further spoilers, do yourself a service and give the game a watch on YouTube or Twitch. If you need to, prep some popcorn, because there is basically a full-length movie ahead of you — and revel in the chaos that is the new Dota.
