Despite being the underdogs in their opening match in Group D of the DreamLeague Season 13: The Leipzig Major Group Stage, Natus Vincere (Na’Vi) upset top North American team Evil Geniuses (EG), thanks to their core duo of Vladislav “Crystallize” Krystanek and Idan “MagicaL” Vardanian.

EG predictably won game one of the series led by an unusual carry Riki, which they ran with again in game two. Na’Vi opted for a high-damage core duo of Drow Ranger for Crystallize and Viper for MagicaL.

Watch Na’Vi’s core duo make pin cushions of the EG heroes in the clips below:

EG looked to win the deciding game three of the series with a surprise Meepo pick, but Na’Vi countered with heroes that dished out huge amounts of area-of-effect damage in Naga Siren for Crystallize and Leshrac for Magical.

Crystallize would repeatedly catch out EG’s heroes with Song of the Siren, which set them up to be annihilated by MagicaL’s array of high-damage abilities.

With their win, Na’Vi are in a good position to secure an Upper Bracket berth in the Main Event of the Leipzig Major. They will be facing the winner of the match between Team Liquid and paiN Gaming next in Day 2 of the Group Stage.
