The most recent Modern Warfare 3 patch update has given birth to a number of bizarre glitches. One of the bugs that many players are facing, in particular, is the strange behaviour of the Cruise Missiles, which prevents players from controlling them while mid-air.

It’s undeniably a serious issue, as the whole situation can go south if you’re unable to target your enemies properly. Therefore, our guide will walk you through some basic troubleshooting steps to help you fix the MW3 Cruise Missiles not working issue.

Unfortunately, there is no absolute solution to get rid of the MW3 Cruise Missiles glitch, as it’s a server-side issue that can only be fixed by developers. Thankfully, the developers have already acknowledged this bug and have assured the community that they will soon deploy a patch to fix it.

We also checked the Modern Warfare 3 Trello board and found that the Cruise Missiles bug is listed under the ‘Investigating’ tab as “Cruise Missile is unable to be controlled upon activation.” So, we suggest avoiding the use of MW3 Cruise Missiles until Raven Software fixes this glitch in the next update.

In the meantime, I suggest performing a few troubleshooting methods to temporarily solve this problem. First of all, make sure the auto-updates for Modern Warfare 3 are turned on, which will ensure that your game is running on the latest version.

Apart from this, you can restart the game if you ever encounter the Cruise Missiles glitch again. Finally, it is possible that your game file is corrupted after downloading the updates. To repair it, you need to use Steam or Battle.net, based on which software you have. After repairing the file, relaunch the game and see if it works properly.
