Riot Games has partnered with Twitch to host a US$200,000 Twitch Rivals tournament for Valorant when the game launches on June 2.

The Twitch Rivals Valorant launch tournament will feature teams comprising content creators from North America, Brazil, Latin America, Europe, Korea, and Japan.

Each region’s champion will earn the distinction of being the first-ever Valorant global champions.

“To celebrate launch, we’re teaming with competitive FPS creators to hold a global tournament and crown one winning team from each region […] This’ll be the biggest global VALORANT tournament the world has seen so far,” posted the official Valorant Twitter account.

Valorant’s closed beta period closed on May 28, less than a week ahead of the game’s June 2 release date. Riot will reset all player accounts and patch new content to prepare for the game’s highly-anticipated launch.

Valorant is among the new series of games that Riot has been working on since the company took the esports scene by storm with the release of 2009’s League of Legends. Alongside their entry into the FPS scene, the company also aims to deliver new experiences to players with games like Legends of Runeterra and League of Legends: Wild Rift.
