Match of the Week: Dignitas vs. Cloud9

Cloud9 was on fire in their match against Dignitas.

One key factor to their success was their decisive playmaking. Instead of going for lane-based kills for gold income, C9 focused on controlling the resources of the map.

Robert “Blaber” Huang did an amazing job claiming both Rift Scuttles when available and the Infernal Dragon Soul. In terms of team fights, C9 rarely overcommitted to the chase. Even by the 23-minute mark, the team only sported 5 kills but had three dragons and three towers under their belt.

Player of the Week: Robert “Blaber” Huang

C9’s Blaber was the standout player of the week, playing an amazing Lee-Sin that focused on map objectives rather than eliminations. Blaber controlled both sides of the jungle, even locking down Dignitas jungler Jonathan “Grig” Armao from traversing to C9’s side.

In this highlight, Blaber evaded Rek’Sai’s tremors, then quickly landed a sonic wave and slowed Grig down. Even though Grig was a hit away from death, Blaber passed the kill to Nisqy for a mid-lane gold advantage.

Standings

Cloud9 stands tall in first place with a perfect 6-0 standing, but the superstar team has to watch out for some competitors looking to challenge them. TSM is currently rocking a four-game win-streak after their match with Golden Guardians, tying with Immortals for second place.

Dignitas, FlyQuest, and 100 Thieves are tied for third, while Team Liquid, Evil Geniuses, and Golden Guardians are tied for fourth. Counter Logic Gaming lies at the bottom of the leaderboard with a 1-5 record.
