The Sandstorm event, which almost marked the end of Fortnite Chapter 5 Season 2, happened on May 16, 2024, at 2pm ET.
It started with a mysterious cloud formation above the Zeus statue at the Mount Olympus POI on May 13, 2024. The statue’s eyes then lit up and unleashed lightning bolts in the sky, signaling the upcoming event.
Two days later, the statue used its sword to strike the notorious Pandora’s Box with its lightning, changing its color to yellow. In the final stage, the statue hit the Pandora’s Box again with red lightning, revealing a weird energy sphere.
The sphere rolled over to the other island and turned into a massive sandstorm. The Pandora’s Box, meanwhile, sank into the river.
