Developer Shift Up’s action-adventure game Stellar Blade has become one of the most hyped releases of this year.
Since the game was initially announced for multiple platforms, including Xbox, many players are left to wonder is Stellar Blade coming to Xbox?
If yes, then when is the expected release date?
Is Stellar Blade coming to Xbox? If so, when?
At the time of writing, there is no official release date for the Xbox version of Stellar Blade, nor do we have any confirmation that there will be a Stellar Blade Xbox release.
When Stellar Blade was first revealed as Project EVE in 2019, it was supposed to be released on previous-generation platforms, including the Xbox One, PlayStation 4, and PC.
But later, in 2022, during the PlayStation State of the Play, we learned that it was changed to a PlayStation exclusive with the new title Stellar Blade.
With PlayStation’s current state and approach, there’s a glimmer of hope for a PC release of Stellar Blade one or two years from now. However, the possibility of an Xbox release seems distant.
Despite not being Sony’s first-party studios, we have already seen games published by SIE (Sony Interactive Entertainment) remain exclusive to the PlayStation platform, with some getting a PC port after a few years.
Even massive hits like Helldivers 2 remain exclusive to PC and PlayStation platforms despite the Xbox community’s eagerness to play the game. But there’s always hope, especially with a change in leadership.
As you may know, Jim Ryan has given the mantle of SIE to Hiroki Totoki, the new CEO. With that, we already have claims coming in that Sony is in talks to bring Helldivers 2 to Xbox.
If this is true, down the line, we may see games like Stellar Blade making their way to the Xbox platform.
So is Stellar Blade coming to Xbox?
Looking at how dear exclusives are to Sony, for now, it is best to say that Stellar Blade is not getting an Xbox release anytime soon.
