Team Liquid have clinched their spot in the WePlay! Pushka League playoffs with a dominant 2-0 victory over OG Seed in their last match of the tournament’s group stage.

Liquid’s midlaner, Maximilian “qojqva” Bröcker, shone on Monkey King in game two to lead his team in securing the series win.

After losing game one, OG Seed looked to bounce back with a strong midgame composition featuring Omar “Madara” Dabachach on Riki, Rasmus “Chessie” Blomdin on Dragon Knight, Andreas “Xibbe” Ragnemalm on an offlane Enchantress, Zakari “Zfreek” Freedman on Dark Willow, and Petu “Peksu” Vaatainen on Keeper of the Light.

Liquid countered with a highly-mobile, hard-hitting lineup with Michael “miCKe” Vu on a safelane Ember Spirit, qojqva on Monkey King at mid, Samuel “Boxi” Svahn on Batrider, Tommy “Taiga” Le on Earth Spirit, and Aydin “iNSaNiA” Sarkohi on Grimstroke.

The laning phase ended in favor of OG Seed as they shut down miCKe while allowing Madara to get an early Triple Kill in the first teamfight of the game at the 11-minute mark, where both teams traded four-for-four. However, qojqva and Boxi were able to pick up the slack for their carry and lead Liquid in winning the key midgame engagements.

While miCKe was far outpaced by Madara and Chessie in terms of farm, things still looked good for Liquid as qojqva topped the net worth charts and started to snowball out of control.

Liquid took over the reins of the game at the 29-minute mark when Boxi caught Chessie and Xibbe with his Batrider’s Flaming Lasso ultimate thanks to a well-placed Soulbind from iNSaNiA’s Grimstroke. That allowed Liquid to secure the first Aegis of the Immortal of the game for qojqva soon after to further grow their lead.

With momentum on their side, Liquid won back-to-back-to-back teamfights, with an unstoppable qojqva notably getting Triple Kills in two of those engagements. Despite OG Seed’s best efforts to defend, they were simply overpowered and eventually forced to call GG after 41 minutes.

Qojqva notched a game-high 13 kills to go along with 15 assists against just one death, while Boxi posted a noteworthy 10/3/19 KDA of his own, to lead Liquid to a series victory and the Pushka League playoffs.
