DOTA Summit 12 featured a marquee matchup between North American giants, Evil Geniuses, and rising European team, OG Seed.

In the first game, OG Seed’s Omar “Madara” Dabachach on Wraith King decided to go for a quick Aghanim’s Scepter to give his team the upper hand in team fights.

Aghanim’s Scepter lets Wraith King’s Reincarnation affect his teammates, allowing OG Seed’s heroes to enter Wraith form and still continue fighting even after being killed.

The Aghanim’s Scepter ability also gave Madara an easy escape mechanic that he took full advantage of.

Evil Geniuses were frustrated all game long at having to kill OG Seed’s heroes multiple times. Artour “Arteezy” Babaev was having a particularly bad day, as he would have to kill Madara twice each time. Madara also used the ability to conveniently pick up his own Divine Rapier again.

EG was able to prolong the game by preventing Madara from grabbing the Aegis of the Immortal with a sick Rosh Pit play from Andreas “Cr1t-” Nielsen.

But it wasn’t enough, as OG Seed were eventually able to catch out Arteezy and Andreas “Cr1t-” Nielsen and then close out the game.

OG Seed currently sits in second place in the Group Stage with a 2-0 win over Team Liquid and 1-1 ties against both Evil Geniuses and South American squad, Thunder Predator.
