Evil Geniuses (EG) and Chaos Esports Club will be the two North American representatives at the ESL One Los Angeles Major.

EG predictably breezed through the qualifier as the region’s perennial top team, while Chaos prevailed over the other North American challengers.

EG and Chaos made it out of Group A in the qualifier group stage, with EG topping the group with a clean 8-0 record. EG made short work of Fighting PandaS (FP) in the opening round of the playoffs to face Chaos, who defeated Business Associates (BA) from Group B, for the first spot in the Major for North America.

Chaos stunned their opponents and took the first game of the series, but EG quickly bounced back and won the next two games to secure their spot in Los Angeles.

With their loss to EG, Chaos dropped to the Lower Bracket where they faced BA for the other direct invite to the Major. While their previous matchup was a tightly-contested 2-1 series, Chaos looked to be in better form in this one as they won 2-0 to book their ticket to Los Angeles.

EG and Chaos will be among the 16 teams vying for the lion’s share of a US$1,000,000 prize pool and 15,000 Dota Pro Circuit points in the Los Angeles Major in March.
