Chinese team Invictus Gaming (IG) won a 75-minute marathon against Alliance at DreamLeague Season 13: The Leipzig Major Group Stage with two Tier 5 Neutral Items: Apex and the Fusion Rune.
Despite having a 41k gold advantage, IG found themselves on the back foot as Alliance had the better late game lineup headed by Nikolay “Nikobaby” Nikolov’s Spectre.
However, since the game was already past the 70-minute mark, Tier 5 Neutral Items were starting to drop as IG scrambled to find ones that would help them break Alliance’s stranglehold.

The Chinese team managed to luck out as Jin “flyfly”‘ Zhiyi’s Drow Ranger managed to secure two of the most OP items: Apex and the Fusion Rune.
The Apex increases the primary attribute of its holder by 80% while the Fusion Rune grants the bonuses of all the Power Runes — Arcane, Haste, Invisibility, Illusion, Regeneration, and, most importantly, Double Damage.
Combine these two on Drow Ranger and you can melt any hero in a matter of seconds.
IG did just that, storming down the middle lane immediately after getting the two items, forcing a fight where Flyfly’s super-charged Drow Ranger destroyed three Alliance heroes in the blink of an eye to win the game.
IG went on to sweep Alliance 2-0 to secure the top seed in Group C and secure an Upper Bracket berth in the Main Event.
