Southeast Asian team Geek Fam has secured a spot for Dota Summit 11, the the first Minor of the 2019-2020 DPC season.

Geek Fam made a dominant run, going 7-1 during the SEA Regional Qualifier for the Dota Summit 11. First, they defeated Team Jinesbrus led by Lee “Forev” Sang-don. Next, they dominated BOOM Esports when they won 2-0 and advanced to the grand final, where they battled Cignal Ultra in a best-of-five match.

During the grand final, Geek Fam was able to bounce back after a decisive game 2 loss to Cignal Ultra. Marc “Raven” Fausto helped his team take the third game with an incredible Spectre Haunt play that moved Geek Fam to match point, and eventually won the qualifier in a one-sided final game.

The revamped Geek Fam squad has synergized well, with new additions Kim “DuBu” Doo-young from Fnatic, Carlo “Kuku” Palad from TNC, and Eric “Ryoya” Dong from Beastcoast forming excellent chemistry with team veterans Raven and Kenny “Xepher” Deo.

The Dota Summit 11 event is set to take place on November 7-10 in Los Angeles, California. Teams will compete for their share of the US$300,000 and 660 DPC prize pool. The event winner will also receive a direct invite to the MDL Chengdu Major.
