Street Fighter V: Champion Edition’s highly anticipated netcode update was released yesterday and it has elicited mixed reactions from the FGC.

The good

Some players were quick to praise Capcom for the update.

The bad

While others were not as positive.



Meanwhile, well-known programmer, TOOLASSISTED, decided to look under the hood to see what Capcom’s netcode changes actually do.

The netcode patch shows that Capcom has implemented similar changes to Reddit user Altimor’s custom patch.

Altimor was the programmer who released a custom PC mod netcode patch that pushed Street Fighter V producer Yoshinori Ono to improve the game’s online features.
