Moonton Games has announced that the Mobile Legends Southeast Asian Cup will be canceled this year due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

“It is a major prerequisite for us to guarantee the safety of the teams, the staff, the partners, and our fans, as well as complying with the laws set to fight against the pandemic,” said Moonton in an official post. “Therefore, after fully considering the status of the pandemic and the government’s regulations against COVID-19, it is with a heavy heart that we inform you that we are going to cancel MSC 2020.”


The mid-year esports event would have brought MLBB’s best players and national teams under one stadium on June 10-14. Though the event has been canceled, Moonton is looking at alternative events to offer MLBB fans a fulfilled June.

MSC 2020 was scheduled to take place at the Mall of Asia Arena in Manila, Philippines with a prize pool of US$150,000. Moonton will likely have various replacement tournaments with smaller prize pools in each country that was supposed to participate in the MSC.
