Fans of multiplayer online battle arena (MOBA) League of Legends (LOL) have made an interesting discovery that could possibly indicate the appearance of General Yone in the Summoner’s Rift.

In the dev video “Champions in Season 2020,” Riot Games Lead Champion Producer Ryan “Reav3” Mireles mentioned two new generals would be part of a big event this summer and that one of the generals is said to be returning from the dead, similar to how Lucian’s wife Senna escaped death from Thresh‘s lantern.

The video teased a red sword surrounded by other swords stuck to the ground. Being a familiar symbol in the Ionian swordsmen culture, some Summoners believe this could be interpreted as a sign of Yone’s return. He is the older half-brother of the LoL champion Yasuo, the Unforgiven.

When Yasuo launched on the Rift, Riot Games published a story titled “A Sword without a Sheath” which was a short narrative written by Yone dedicated to his beloved brother. It told the story of how Yone bestowed Yasuo a maple seed to teach the latter a lesson in humility. The story can be read here.

Yone died by his brother’s hand, and his death has always haunted Yasuo, filling the Unforgiven with guilt and regret.

Of course, all of the above is just speculation by gamers and Riot Games has not confirmed anything yet about Yone’s appearance. However, if true, Yasuo being reunited with his brother and Yone as the latest LoL champion is likely to be the hottest LoL news this summer.
