The League of Legends Champions Korea tournament may have been slowed down by a brief hiatus due to COVID-19, but the Korean league came roaring back with three weeks of intense online competition.
As the LCK now heads into the postseason with its Spring Playoffs, let’s take a look at some of the most exhilarating plays Korea’s top teams have displayed for the world.
5. Doran feeds SANDBOX Gaming to the rest of DragonX for a game-ending ace
Earning a third place finish in the regular season, DragonX proved its mettle as one of the strongest offensive LCK teams.
In their match against SANDBOX Gaming, Choi “Doran” Hyeon-joon was not afraid of getting right in the faces of his opponents. With a quick flash, the Sett player caught three enemies in a Facebreaker. He instantly followed it up with a Showstopper on Moon “Route” Geom-su, landing on the rest of DRX.
Backliners Kim “Deft” Hyuk-kyu and Jeong “Chovy” Ji-hoon did their part by showering a flurry of bullets and arrows into the fray, securing a clean ace with a sweet triple-kill for Deft.
4. Summit comes out of nowhere to delete KT Rolster’s backline
SANDBOX Gaming may not be seen as a household name in the LCK, but SB toplaner Park “Summit” Woo-tae established himself as a bona fide assassin in this highlight.
KT Rolster were on their way to pinning SB in their jungle. With an opposing trio pursuing his teammates, Summit hid in the bush to cause no suspicion. As the trio closed in on his teammates, Summit flashed in and unleashed an electrifying Slicing Maelstrom, clearing the backline and effortlessly picking up the triple-kill.

3. KT Rolster wash out T1 with an ace in the river
To close off their final match-up with T1, KT Rolster played a slow and methodical game to counter T1’s championship-tier teamwork. Trading skills and shots at each other in the midlane, Kim “Aiming” Ha-ram finally got to solo-kill Lee “Effort” Sang-ho with a Bullet Time.
With the 4v5 advantage, KT quickly grouped up and charged toward the undermanned enemy. With a barrage of stuns and a Slicing Maelstrom to start, Lee “Kuro” Seo-haeng and Aiming had no trouble in dealing damage from the backline. Both players came out with double-kills before completing the sweep against T1.
2. Faker’s Petrifying Gaze catches half of Hanwha Life
This wouldn’t be a list about Korea’s best without T1 midlaner Lee “Faker” Sang-hyeok making a quick appearance. The world-class player has been an active playmaker since the first week of the Spring Season.
Here’s a highlight from one of their first matches against Hanwha Life Esports.
Trying to escape an unfortunate overextension in the top lane via Kang “Tempt” Myung-gu’s Realm Warp, HLE was caught by Faker’s beautiful Petrifying Gaze and Miasma combo. With the rest of T1 quickly arriving on the scene, Faker came out of the punish with a well-deserved triple-kill.
1. Mystic and Fly combine for an outrageous 2v5 ace against Griffin
Though Afreeca Freecs fell two games shy of making the Spring Playoffs, the team’s die-hard attitude got them some incredible comebacks this year.
In their first match against Griffin, the team was caught off-guard in the midlane, leaving only Jin “Mystic” Seong-jun and Song “Fly” Yong-jun still alive. Despite being outnumbered, the two backliners flexed their kiting skills and left viewers in awe with a 2v5 ace behind a triple-kill from Mystic.
