MAD Lions young jungler, Zhiqiang “Shadow” Zhao, outsmarted G2 Esports in Week 5 of League of Legends European Championship (LEC) Spring Split with some patience and a totem ward.

Shadow first activated Lee Sin’s Sonic Wave, which hit G2 Mihael “Mikyx” Mehle’s Nautilus, then he cast Resonating Strike to dash to him.

Then, Shadow planted a totem ward near G2’s Mikyx’s location and used his second ability Safeguard to dash to the ward. With a bonus life steal and spell vamp from Iron Will, Shadow used his Dragon Rage roundhouse kick on G2’s Rasmus “Caps” Winther sending him flying in the direction of teammates, Kaiser and Carzzy, who instantly deleted him.

The move drove away the remaining G2 members from defending their turret, which gave MAD an advantage with the Baron Nashor buff’s help.

The best-of-one series ended with a victory for MAD Lions with a 19/7/52 overall KDA in 31 minutes.
