The League of Legends Championship Series, also known as the North American league for LoL, will have an updated broadcast system for the regular season and a new format for the end-of-year playoffs, alongside having a larger emphasis on Academy games.
The expanded LCS broadcast will now feature games three days a week, with two Monday night matches to be shown alongside the usual four matches for both Saturdays and Sundays.
The Monday broadcasts will be a premier show called Monday Night League and will feature two of the league’s weekly headline matchups alongside three NA Academy games.
The Academy League will also be playing several games on Fridays, with one highlighted match on each day of the weekend.

Meanwhile, the LCS playoffs will be following a new format for the Spring and Summer splits. The new Spring Split format will be similar to that of the LCS’ European counterpart, with the top six teams from the split playing several best of five matches with a winners bracket and a losers bracket.
The new Summer Split format will be more complicated, as it will now determine the top three teams of the LCS that will be the region’s representatives at the League of Legends World Championship. The institution of this new format retires the usage of circuit points or the Play-in Gauntlet from the previous seasons.
The 2020 LCS Spring Split will regular season will begin on January 25, with a match between Cloud9 and Team Liquid, and will run until March 22. The Spring Playoffs will be held shortly after, from March 28 to April 19.
The Summer Split regular season will start on June 20 and will run until August 16, with the playoffs to be held from August 20 to September 13.
