Steve Downes, the veteran voice actor best known for his voice work for Master Chief from the Halo video game franchise, is doing his part to help combat COVID-19 the best way he can — using his unmistakable voice.

Collaborating with charity organization Project C.U.R.E., Downes will record short greetings and personalized messages as Master Chief using the Cameo platform.

Priced at US$67 per recording, Cameo shoutouts are already something that Downes does as a regular side project. But for the entire month of April, he is sending 100% of the proceeds to his partner charity.

The funds raised through this campaign will help Project C.U.R.E. source out, purchase, and procure medical equipment. These supplies will then be distributed to hospitals and medical facilities that are helping treat COVID-19 patients around the world.

“It’s a great cause,” said Downes. “And maybe together, we can help finish this fight.”

Downes will make his next appearance as Master Chief in the upcoming Halo Infinite game that will release later this year on PC, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X.
