Germany’s largest gaming event is heading to Singapore.

Gamescom Asia will take place from October 15-18 next year and will consist of a two-day industry event and a three-day public exhibition. It will will feature esports events, new tech in games, workshops, meet-and-greet sessions, and cosplay.

There are also plans to launch global titles at the event, although given the timing of September’s Tokyo Game Show, it remains to be seen whether there will be any cool AAA games announced.

The arrival of Gamescom Asia also means that this year’s GameStart Asia in Singapore will be the last one, as GameStart will be partnering Gamescom for next year’s event.

“This is a launch event that we are all looking forward to. The region has been hungry for a tier one gaming event and we now have all the ingredients to successfully cater to this need,” said Mathias Kuepper, Koelnmesse Singapore’s managing director.

Kuepper added that the inaugural show plans to attract “over 30,000 enthusiasts and gaming industry professionals”.
