This is it! Riot Games has finally announced that its highly anticipated competitive, character-based, first-person tactical shooter will be launching worldwide on June 2.

The game’s closed beta period will come to an end on May 28, and Riot will reset all player accounts and patch new content to prepare for the launch.

This means that all players will start fresh once Valorant is officially live and will be able to progress from the same starting point, as they compete against other players around the world.

Valorant’s launch will also include the addition of the Southeast Asian region.

Players will be able to play Valorant on PC in English, Bahasa Indonesia, Thai, and Traditional Chinese, with the Vietnamese language to come later this year. Valorant will be free-to-play and will be available to download from the official website.

Meanwhile, fans in Taiwan will have to wait a few more weeks after Valorant’s worldwide launch, due to additional technical integration work necessary to comply with local requirements.

“Our goal has always been to bring Valorant to as much of the world as soon as possible, and we’re hyped to be able to do so on June 2,” said Anna Donlon, Executive Producer of Valorant at Riot Games. “This is just the beginning of our journey, not the finish line.”

Riot has set high standards and expectations with Valorant’s worldwide release by reinforcing its level of commitment to players. The Valorant team has stated that it plans to deliver new game content, game modes, new agents, and new maps shortly after the game’s launch. Riot has also prioritized additional game server deployments on its short-term roadmap, in order to lower latency in response to the rising player demand.

Valorant is one of the new games Riot has been working on since the company took the esports scene by storm, when they released League of Legends back in 2009. The company still aims to deliver new experiences to players with games like Legends of Runeterra and League of Legends: Wild Rift.
