Despite being destroyed by the Valorant dev team in a three-game show match, Mike “Shroud” Grzesiek and his group of ex-CS:GO pros, which included Keven “AZK” Lariviere, Braxton “swag” Pierce, Jordan “n0thing” Gilbert, and Daniel “fRoD” Montaner lined up for a rematch earlier this week.

With Shroud’s team having a better understanding of the game after spending more time playing the closed beta, they picked agents that worked better for certain maps. Shroud switch from playing Jett to Raze and used her explosive abilities to help his team win the first game 13-11 in Haven as the defender squad.

Shroud and his team managed to keep up with the dev team’s coordinated team movement and utility usage by stepping away from traditional CS:GO stategies and playing as a five-man squad.

In the next game, Shroud decided to go back to playing Jett, and his ultimate usage wasn’t as efficient as when he was playing Raze. The Valorant dev team weren’t able to catch the enemy team with their agent ability-combo tactics, like they did in the first game, but they did show off their excellent aim, winning the second game 13-8 in Bind as the defender squad.

In game three, the ex-CS:GO pro squad again showed improvements in their map awareness, but they were still no match for the dev team’s knowledge of the game.

The dev team ended up taking a tightly-contested final game with a 13-12 score, putting their record at 2-0 over the ex-CS:GO pros.
