The official fighting game of everyone’s favorite Mighty Morphin’ super sentai now has an official esports league of its own.

Currently limited to the USA region, the Power Rangers: Battle for the Grid League consists of online and offline tournaments. Players can sign-up for various sanctioned competitions, fighting to collect Grid Points that will boost their rankings on the event leaderboard.

Among the various events tied to the league, there will be six major events where the Top 3 ranked players will earn a massive amount of Grid Points. The first of these majors is currently ongoing (January 17-18) at Frosty Faustings in Chicago, IL.

Other key stops include:

  • Final Round (March 20-22, Atlanta, GA)
  • NorCal Regionals (April 10-12, San Jose, CA)
  • April Annihilation (April 10-12, New Jersey, NJ)
  • ComboBreaker (May 23-25, Chicago, IL)
  • CEO (June 26-28, Orlando, FL)

Those who can’t make it to these critical tournaments can score additional points through in-game events, known as Episodes. Every month, new Episodes will be introduced with their own leaderboard tracking the players’ ranks. Higher ranks correspond to more Grid Points.

Episode Leaderboard rankings will reset every time new Episodes are released, giving new players a chance to earn top ranks and a shot to compete in the League.

The sanctioned tournaments will end on July 11, 2020, with seven top-ranked players on the leaderboard automatically qualifying for the Grand Finals.

There will also be a “Last Chance” qualifier event that will pave the way for a wildcard entrant to join as the eighth competitor.

The Power Rangers: Battle for the Grid League Grand Finals will be held at EVO 2020, which takes place in Las Vegas, NV from July 31 to August 1, 2020.
