Rujikore “Bossui” Taewatanasakul, the captain of Buriram United Esports’ Pro Evolution Soccer team, talked to ONE Esports about how the squad is prepared to protect their championship in the second leg of the Toyota E-League 2020.

Despite taking a long break from the league due to the COVID-19 crisis, Bossui and Buriram have continued practicing on a regular basis. Although the team had a rocky start in the first leg, Bossui reassured their fans that the team is ready to conquer the league once again.

“In the first leg we lost points in many games, but I told everyone in the team to forget it all,” said Bossui. “[We] will focus on the games in the second leg to collect as many points as possible and defend our title.”

Bossui also shared his thoughts on Vietnamese player Jezus leaving the team to be replaced by Zuludinho.

“Losing Jezus startled everyone at the event,” Bossui added. “He was more than a teammate for me. We’ve fought since the pre-season and even won the championship together.”

“Though Jezus was an important player to Buriram, we must continue to hunt for the championship.”

As for Zuludinho, Bossui has nothing but praise for his newly signed teammate. Bossui pointed out that Zuludinho was a “disciplined and very professional athlete” that will develop during his time at Buriram.

Even with the roster change and the league hiatus, the team captain stressed that Buriram’s goal is to become champions once again.

“The goal of the Buriram team or the standard of Buriram is to be the one and only champion,” said Bossui. “I want the GU12 fans and the Buriram United Esports fans to cheer and encourage us in the upcoming Toyota E-League. We will bring the championship to you.”

To begin the second leg of the Toyota E-League 2020, Buriram United Esports will go up against Nakhonratchasima FC in an online match on May 24.
