The debut of Sentinels’ star-studded Valorant roster at the T1 x Nerd Street Gamers Invitational tournament was ruined by ex-CS:GO pro squad, Team Brax, led by Braxton “swag” Pierce.

Sentinels’ squad includes Overwatch League MVP Jay “Sinatraa” Won, along with former Apex Legends pro, Coby “Dizzy” Meadows, who was the team’s stand-in fifth member.

The Sentinels squad proved that they had what it takes to go head-to-head with Team Brax by trading rounds evenly up. But on the 18th round, Shahzeb “ShahZaM” Khan gave Sentinels a huge momentum boost by winning a clutch 1v4 with a Rolling Thunder ultimate that dazed and knocked back the entire enemy team, who were trying to defuse the Spike.

With the round tied 12-12, Sentinels took a quick agent advantage after Sinatraa earned an entry frag on Austin “crashies” Roberts. But CS:GO star player, Jonathan “EliGE” Jablonowski shattered Sentinels chances of winning the first game by getting three quick kills.

Team Brax clutchesd out the first game of the series by winning the final four rounds.

In the following game, both teams proved to once again be evenly matched by continuing to trade rounds. After operating as Sentinels’ entry fragger in the first game, Sinatraa kept playing aggressive, even on the defenders side.

ShahZaM continued to clutch out rounds for Sentinels with his Phantom, pulling off an insane B site hold on Bind that evened the game at 8-8.

Sinatraa and Jared “Zombs” Gitlin were able to prolong the game, but Team Brax managed to outlast Sentinels in the final round. Team Brax won the final game of the series with a 13-11 score.

Team Brax advanced all the way to the Grand Final, but were ultimately defeated by Gen.G’s French Canadian squad filled with active CS:GO pro players.
