If Gohan and Goku were to fight it out at the World Martial Arts Tournament, who would win?

The answer to that question is complicated, but a real life father and son battle at Dragon Ball FighterZ tournament may shed some light on whether Gohan is just plain better when Goku doesn’t get absurd powerups.

Tsuyoshi, a 9-year-old Dragon Ball FighterZ player, found himself facing his own dad in the very first round of a weekly tournament for beginners and intermediate players hosted by the Fighting Tuesday event series, reported Kotaku.

The match wasn’t packed with amazing plays or next level strategy, but it was a crowd pleaser as it’s not every day you get to see a son beating his dad in a video game tournament. Commentators Andrew “jiyuna” Fidelis and Majin Obama also made the match so much more enjoyable, with numerous jokes about the unique matchup.

Tsuyoshi won the match with a 2-1 victory over Wasa, with Wasa laughing at his loss but looking all proud of his son’s skills. Tsuyoshi gave his father a bow and a hug, before they both headed off-camera to get ready for Tsuyoshi’s next match.
