Team Secret has been on a tear, showing its best performance yet at the Dota 2 Major.

Remaining undefeated at the upper bracket, Team Secret watched on as they waited for Team Liquid, who had to battle multiple veteran teams while also avenging their upper bracket loss to North American squad Evil Geniuses on their road to the grand finals.

Liquid started out the first game of the best-of-five with a great show of team coordination, with Amer “Miracle” Al-Barkawi’s Morphling the centerpiece of their lineup. Towards the end, Miracle was able to pick off multiple enemy heroes in the Dire base scoring a “Quadruple Rampage” before Secret tapped out of game one.

Unfortunately, that was all Liquid had, having run out of gas in the next three games. Secret’s resilience was on show as they won team fights with just the slightest of margins with Yeik “MidOne” Nai Zheng’s Arc Warden at one point surviving a team fight with 100 health points left.

Facing a 38,000 gold deficit, Liquid found no way to get back into the game, and conceded the second game.

The next two games showed Secret’s captain Clement “Puppey” Ivanov’s mastery of the draft. While both teams are known for their methodical process when it comes to hero drafts, Puppey drafted Doombringer for offlaner Ludwig “Zai” Wahlberg and used him to great effect, keeping Miracle’s Morphling useless in clutch fights.

With one game away from winning another Dota 2 Major, Secret played flawlessly as they punished Liquid’s gank attempts.

In the 28-minute mark of the game, Secret sealed their victory with a series-clinching stolen “Black Hole” by Yazied “Yapzor” Jaradat’s Rubick.

Team Secret finished MDL Disneyland Paris Major with US$350,000 in prize money and a whopping 4,950 DPC points, putting them at the top of the DPC table; while Team Liquid walked away with US$170,000 and 3,000 DPC points.
