The road to The International 2020 has officially begun with the start of the 2019-2020 Dota Pro Circuit Regional Qualifiers for the MDL Chengdu Major.

The best Southeast Asian Dota 2 teams battled it out to see who will make it to the first Valve Major of the new DPC season. 10 teams were split into two groups, where they all had to play each other in a best-of-two round-robin format. After two days of competitive Dota 2, the top two teams from each group advance to the playoffs. For the SEA Regional Qualifier, three invites have been allotted, which means three out of the four teams that reach the playoffs will make it to the MDL Chengdu Major.

For the first day of the qualifiers in the Southeast Asian region, Team Adroit and the new TNC Predator team took a commanding lead for their respective groups, with both teams going undefeated.

On the following day of the qualifiers, the newly formed Fnatic roster took the top spot for Group A as they defeated both Sterling Global Dragons and Team Adroit 2-0. Meanwhile, over in Group B, TNC secured a first-place finish by defeating Geek Fam 2-0, followed by a 1-1 tie with Cignal Ultra.

During the Playoff Stage of the Regional Qualifier, Team Fnatic was able to defeat Cignal Ultra 2-0, securing their spot at the very first Major of the 2019-2020 DPC Season, to be held in Chengdu, China.
