Week 2 of the ONE Esports Dota 2 SEA League kicks off tomorrow, with top teams Fnatic, Geek Fam, and BOOM Esports finally making their debut.

With the league kicking into full gear, here’s a quick look at some matches you do not want to miss:

Day 1: Neon Esports vs NEW Esports

The first day of action for Week 2 will end with a matchup between two of the hottest teams in Southeast Asia right now. Neon Esports had a deep run at BTS Pro Series: SEA Season 2 despite only coming in as replacements for the event, while NEW Esports showed they could hang with the best teams in the region despite coming into the SEA League as complete unknowns.

Both teams have hyper-aggressive playstyles that are best embodied by their midlaners; Erin Jasper “Yopaj” Ferrer for Neon and Yi Liong “ddz” Kok for NEW. While Neon is the better team on paper in this matchup, we expect an action-packed series against NEW to end with a 1-1 tie.

Day 2: Neon Esports vs BOOM Esports

Neon will have another big match on Day 2, this time against the third-best team in the region, BOOM Esports. While this won’t be BOOM’s first match in the league, Neon will be the first tough opponent they’ll be facing.

Much like our first featured matchup, both teams run hyper-aggressive playstyles embodied by their midlaners. With that said, we think that BOOM’s Rafli Fathur “Mikoto” Rahman, one of the best mids in SEA, has a clear edge over Yopaj. The last time that these two teams met was in the opening round of the playoffs at BTS Pro Series, where BOOM won 2-0. While we expect a similar outcome here at the SEA League, it’s certainly shaping up to be a hard-fought series.

Day 3: Fnatic vs BOOM Esports

Smack bang in the middle of Day 3 will be a clash between two of the region’s powerhouses. While Fnatic is still the favorite to claim the championship here at the SEA League, BOOM notably denied them another trophy at BTS Pro Series when they surprisingly swept them at that event’s Lower Bracket Finals.

BOOM will be Fnatic’s first real opponent here in the SEA League, and they will surely be looking to avenge their loss at BTS Pro Series. Fnatic carry, Nuengnara “23savage” Teeramahanon, also had a muted showing when his team was defeated by BOOM. We expect a statement performance from him in a matchup that could go either way.

Day 4: Geek Fam vs BOOM Esports

Week 2 will end with arguably the most hyped matchup of the group stage between the two finalists of BTS Pro Series. Geek Fam took the championship at that tournament after they defeated BOOM twice, first in a 2-1 victory in the Upper Bracket Finals and then a 3-0 sweep in the Grand Finals.

Geek Fam carry Marc Polo “Raven” Fausto shone as his team demolished BOOM in their last meeting, and we expect them to do the same in their latest clash here at the SEA League. While Geek Fam clearly have BOOM’s number, we’re gonna go ahead and predict the latter to strike back with a vengeance to force the series to a 1-1 tie. Whatever the outcome may be, this is undoubtedly the match to watch for Week 2.
