Team Aster executed its high-damage strategy featuring Drow Ranger, Shadow Fiend, and Vengeful Spirit almost to perfection to eliminate North American squad Chaos Esports Club in the best-of-one series at the DreamLeague Season 13: The Leipzig Major Lower Bracket.

Aster’s strategy was dependent on support Vengeful Spirit for Ye “BoBoKa” Zhibiao, whose Wave of Terror and Vengeance Aura abilities pushed the already high damage potential of Song “Sccc” Chun’s Drow Ranger and Kee Chyuan “ChYuan” Ng’s Shadow Fiend to ludicrous levels.

While the laning phase ended with both teams on relatively even ground, Aster quickly showed that they could not be beaten in a straight-up five-on-five engagement. That forced Chaos to try and split push around the map to give themselves a fighting chance, but they repeatedly got picked off to give Aster the opening they needed to close the game out after 34 minutes.

With their win, Aster advance to the next round of the Lower Bracket, where they will face fellow Chinese team Invictus Gaming.

Meanwhile, Chaos EC bow out of the Leipzig Major in 13th-16th place with US$12,500 and 100 Dota Pro Circuit points as a consolation prize.
