The first Major of the 2019-2020 DPC season is over, with TNC Predator winning big yet again.
After their win at ESL Hamburg, TNC won the MDL Chengdu Major by defeating Vici Gaming 3-1.
The end of the first Major also means the release of the Outlanders update, one of the biggest patches that’s set to change the entire Dota 2 landscape.
This also means this could be the last time we’re going to see certain heroes and their abilities. So let us enjoy the final highlights of patch 7.22h.
TNC vs EHOME (Group A Winners’ Match)
TNC made the most of the Morphling Earthshaker combo during the MDL Chengdu Major, with Kim “Gabbi” Villafuerte showing off his mastery the hero.
Evil Geniuses vs Team Adroit (Group C Opening Match)
EG’s Artour “Arteezy” Babaev showed Team Adroit’s young squad what playing in a Major is all about, as his Faceless Void read Jun “Bok” Kanehara’s Burrow Strike perfectly and dodged accordingly.
Fnatic vs Alliance (Group B Opening Match)
Daryl “iceiceice” Xiang had a difficult tournament at the Major, but he had one highlight that was sure to impress Dota 2 fans.
His Pudge was relegated to creating space for his team, but by drawing in so much attention on himself, his teammates were able to burst down Nikolay “Nikobaby” Nikolov twice.
Beastcoast vs Fighting PandaS (Lower Bracket)
Elvis “Scofield” Peña was a complete and total nuisance to Fighting PandaS. First, he sniped the enemy Courier that was transporting a Black King Bar. Then, he forced the four Dire heroes to rotate towards him. Lastly, he was able to escape the enemy team by running into the enemy Fountain and teleport back to base.
TNC vs Alliance (Upper Bracket)
Alliance had a massive 62,000 gold lead advantage, but that still wasn’t enough to put the eventual tournament champions away. TNC was able to defend their base against a full Dire team with multiple Mega Creeps in the Radiant base.
Invictus Gaming vs Beastcoast (Lower Bracket)
IG shocked the South American team by pulling off an amazing comeback victory. Beastcoast had a 10,000 gold lead, but after a crazy scramble by the Radiant tier two Tower, the Chinese home team took back control of the final game and advanced into the Lower Bracket quarterfinals.
Vici Gaming vs TNC (Upper Bracket Final)
VG had their moments against TNC, and during the upper bracket final, Xiong “Pyw” Jiahan was able to steal the Cheese, Refresher Shard, and Aghanim’s Blessing. All these items played a critical role in VG’s game two victory over TNC.
Vici Gaming vs TNC (Grand Final)
Zhang “Eurus” Chengjun snatched the Aegis of the Immortal away from Gabbi and Armel “Armel” Tabios during a critical team fight in game three of the grand finals.
