Natus Vincere (NAVI) once again show why they are the best Counter-Strike 2 team in the world at the PGL Major Copenhagen 2024 in a 2-1 victory over FaZe Clan at the Royal Arena in Copenhagen on March 31, 2024.
This is their second Major championship victory since their first win at PGL Major Stockholm in 2021.
NAVI claimed the top prize of US$500,000 and 3,500 Blast Premier Points.
Natus Vincere complete their championship run with a 2-1 win against FaZe Clan
Starting from the sixth position in the elimination rounds, NAVI overcame strong competition, securing victories against Eternal Fire in a 2-0 sweep, and defeated G2 Esports 2-1, to claim their spot in the grand finals.
Reaching the pinnacle of the tournament, FaZe Clan, the last obstacle on their path to victory, skillfully defeated Team Spirit 2-1 in the quarterfinals, and overcame Team Vitality 2-1 in the semifinals, paving the way for the ultimate clash against NAVI in the grand finale.
Kicking off the opening map, Ancient, NAVI and FaZe Clan were initially locked in a tight contest, each securing three rounds, creating a 3-3 tie.
However, NAVI managed to pull ahead and concluded the map with a commendable 13-9 victory, setting a strong tone for the series.
Moving on to the next map, Mirage, the situation seemed grim for NAVI. FaZe Clan displayed formidable prowess, decisively overpowering NAVI with a striking 13-2, winning the second game to level the series.
During the decisive third map, Inferno, NAVI swiftly took control, establishing an early six-round lead over FaZe Clan.
Their dominance in consecutive gun battles effectively undermined FaZe Clan’s ability to control the map, propelling them to maintain a relentless pace throughout the game.
This resulted in a commanding 13-3 victory, culminating in their triumphant claim of the championship title at the PGL Major Copenhagen 2024.
FaZe Clan was awarded US$170,000 and 2,750 Blast Premier Points for their runner-up finish.
