The rank system in Apex Legends works similarly to what we have in other battle royale games. There are eight multi-tier ranks, where players start at the bottom rank, Rookie and earn Ranked Points through placement, kills, assists and being more consistent in match placements to reach the highest rank, Apex Predator eventually.

To access the rank mode in Apex Legends, you must be at level 20 or above. Once you meet the requirement, you can select the game mode from the bottom left menu and start playing the Ranked Leagues.

When you are in a premade trios team, irrespective of the individual ranks, all three can play together, with matchmaking considering the highest rank.

On the other hand, while playing ranked mode in duos, rank restrictions are in place as you can play with another player with one tier difference.
